Candlewood Shopping Center
Candlewood Center is a neighborhood retail center immediately north of CiCo Park in Manhattan, KS. Built in the late 1970’s, the center’s signage was a mixture of back lighted can signage and manual lettered message boards, most dating from original construction.
The center’s ownership group approached S&N Design to design and manage the rebranding project.
The overall project involved not only designing and managing the installation of major new center signage, but working with all of the tenants to replace the out-of-date backlighted signage with consistent pin-mounted lettering. To accomplish the task, a branding plan was created using a limited typeface collection, and a subdued color palette that cold stand alone, or work with a tenant’s corporate signage options.
The new center logo / identification was created and implemented on both monument signs as well as directory signage. The monument signage required that S&N Design work with City of Manhattan staff to ensure that the signs would need new signage regulations.
Along with th signage project, the identification was used in a new, S&N Design created, website and marketing materials for the center.
